Eurostamp has expanded its range of dies with the new Active Bend-EVO: a new rotary die, providing high performances and even more accurate, cleaner and more flexible bending.
Differences from conventional dies.
Unlike conventional dies, which have a fixed V opening, Active Bend-EVO features two cylindrical inserts which support the sheet metal. The flat surfaces of these two inserts, which rotate under the pressure of the punch, form the V opening.
When using Active Bend-EVO, sheet metal always lies on the flat surfaces of the rotating inserts, considerably reducing the risk of scratching (marking) caused by the die shoulders of conventional dies (the only point in the lower tool touching the sheet metal).
Active Bend-EVO die: how does it work?
Active Bend-EVO makes sheet metal bending more effective and accurate: the sheet is supported by the flat surfaces of the cylindrical inserts, which rotate when the upper tool goes down until the required bend angle is reached.
What are the advantages of this new die?
Active Bend-EVO: advantages.
Active Bend-EVO avoids some of the typical difficulties of using conventional dies; as it:
- considerably reduces (and often eliminates) marks caused by the edges of the die,
- considerably reduces (and often eliminates) damages to protective films,
- considerably reduces (and often eliminates) marks on tread plates,
- considerably reduces (and often eliminates) distortion of holes near the bend line.
Higher flexibility.
- it makes it possible to bend sheet with diagonal sides,
- it makes it possible to bend material with smaller flanges.
Faster operations.
Almost all materials bent with Active Bend-EVO do not need any further operations of surface finishing, thanks to deformations and marks being reduced. Faster operations also allow to decrease costs and delivery times.
Technical details.
All models are available with standard lengths L=500mm and L=100mm; it is also possible to order segmented models as special tools.
Model 3334. For sheet metal with max. thickness of 1.5 mm, smallest angle possible approx. 40° (depending on material and thickness) max. tonnage 100 Ton/m.
Model 3335. For sheet metal with max. thickness of 3 mm, smallest angle possible approx. 60° (depending on material and thickness) max. tonnage 150 Ton/m.
Model 3336. For sheet metal with max. thickness of 6 mm, smallest angle possible approx. 60° (depending on material and thickness) max. tonnage 250 Ton/m.
Eurostamp quality.
Since 1970 Eurostamp has been committed to meeting all its customers' needs and requests, always focusing on technological research and development of press brake tooling. This research has resulted in innovative products, such as the new die Active Bend-EVO, which can meet any sheet metal bending needs.
